WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH
If you want to know what Peter Jirgens does, other than go to Latvia, he’s the dynamo who initiates cleaning up the mess people make of the Shoalhaven River at Nowra. This is his latest effort with the help of twenty Riverwatch volunteers, who recovered; 30 shopping trolleys, three pushbikes, a scooter, a bed frame, fencing, more than half a kilometre of fishing line, fishing rods, two truck tyres, three bags of plastic rubbish from under Nowra Sailing Club, 10 bags of rubbish, a three metre cubic bin of plastic items, 2 used syringes, clothing, and a bag of electrical items.
Not bad for a morning’s work!
