Now the tennis is finished I can get back to my latest purchase.
Michel Benham, a Palestinian Arab I met during our last stay in Jerusalem in June/July 2017, introduced me to the impressive research of Tom Segev, an Israeli historian, author and former Haaretz journalist. He is described as being associated with Israel's New Historians, a group challenging many of the country's traditional narratives. His books include The Seventh Million and The Israelis and the Holocaust.
Michel, now a friend said it was the best book on Palestine he’s read. That got my attention!
I’ll provide a brief review when I’ve finished. That may be sooner than later, given the pathetic quality of evening TV at the moment.
