PENGUIN BLOOM - A REVIEW

Holiday viewing included “Penguin Bloom’, an engaging movie. Samantha (Amy Watts), confined to a wheelchair after a Thai holiday accident, forms an unlikely relationship with an injured wild bird and the allegory unfolds.

While the progression is predictable, the story is compelling, based on real life, beautifully filmed with outstanding performances by the actors. Scenes of raw emotion demonstrate the depth and reality of Sam and her family’s battle for survival.

Their feathered friend’s relationship engenders a bittersweet touch, balancing the intensity.

An inspirational experience for family (older children), confronting and heart-warming.
