On this day in 1963 US President John F Kennedy declared that segregation is morally wrong and that it is "time to act."

While state-enforced segregation laws such as South African Apartheid or Jim Crow in the United States have been officially dismantled globally, racial and ethnic segregation still exists. Today, it primarily persists as de facto segregation—driven by systemic inequality, historical redlining, socio-economic divides, and deeply ingrained cultural prejudice.

Nelson Mandela famous quote needs to be raised high in our local and global community.

"No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."
